Itsy bitsy baby steps away from square 1
So as not to wallow in real estate self pity forever, Ransom & I got back out there yesterday to look at other hourses. Lo & behold, we really liked the first house we saw. It's a ranch house in Lemme school district (a good one), the basement is finished, and it's just pretty cool for a good price. There's room for improvement, so we can really make it our own (if we get it-- musn't jinx our chances again).
Surprisingly, they have accepted our offer, although another one is on its way in right now. If that offer is accepted and isn't contingent to sale, we have 48 hours (as opposed to the 24 hours last time) to either sell the condo or give up the house. There is a chance that they might not accept the offer; apparently there are problems with the possession dates (the sellers want to stay until early June. That's right, if we get it we will take possession 8 short days before we get married!) Anyway, we have at least one showing scheduled this weekend, so I'm trying to think positively. That's not my default setting, so it's a struggle. I just need to remind myself that things do work out well sometimes (even if it means getting a Tommy Hilfiger room in the process!)
